Our first day of sailing. We departed ACI marina at 0800h with very light wind on the stern. Not enough for sailing as we were trying to make a rendezvous with our flotilla leader at Primosten at 1300h, a distance of 30 miles.
We never got a favourable wind speed or direction and ended up motoring all the way. We anchored in Primosten Bay and awaited Steve's arrival.
Some of us went for a swim. What a surprise, water was about 18C, a little colder than we expected.
Steve arrived and had to rendezvous with a fellow to have his autopilot repaired. We continued on to Skradin which was about 15 miles up Krka River which is bordered by canyon walls. At the entrance, we passed by the remains of St Nicholas Fortress.
We went by the town of Sibenik.
On our way up the river, we passed numerous mussel farms.
Further along, we were strafed by a water bomber!
We arrived at our anchorage at Skradin at about 1830h, in time for a swim in the fresh water with the swans followed by a drink before supper.
Supper was at Konoba Bomaca with the crew from Roc. Favourite dishes were the prawns and grilled eel. This was accompanied by too much wine. As soon as Canada Day arrived (local time), we played the anthem and retired for the night.
